Located in Raytown, Missouri, Our Lady of Lourdes is an elementary school serving grades Pre-K through 8th. Our Lady of Lourdes belongs to the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and serves families from Raytown, Kansas City and surrounding areas. Our Lady of Lourdes has always thrived because of its strong parish and community family. From its earliest onset, the parish helped to ensure the building and growth of the school. With the growth of the parish and the Raytown community, as well as the building of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in 1948, the parishioners supported the decision to build a new school to accommodate this growth. By 1951 construction began for a school and a convent for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. In the fall of 1952, Our Lady of Lourdes School opened for its first term, with Sister Agatha Irene Walsh serving as the first principal. The school was built and continues to thrive because of its strong, loving community. For fifty years, Our Lady of Lourdes has strived to keep the school’s traditions, as well as provide innovative opportunities for spiritual and academic success. With God's help, and through the prayerful intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Lourdes will continue to grow as a loving and sharing community allowing students to enter and learn; leave to lead and serve.
